WEST STREET 1. 4430 (East Side) CARSHALTON No 80 (The Rose Cottage) TQ 2764 NE 18/201 II GV 2. C19 front; deeds refer to a later C17 house which was enlarged in 1809 and presumably re-fronted. 2 storeys, 5 window bays. Slate hipped roof. Overhanging eaves. Brown brick front; end bays with roughcast cladding flanked by red brick quoined pilasters; red brick window dressings and band. Sash windows 3 panes wide. Doorcase has columns with ornate caps and triangular dentil pediment [brought from elsewhere ?]. Modern semi-circular fanlight with radiating tracery; 6-panelled door with top 4 panels cut away and glazed.

Nos 42 and 48 and Nos 50 to 64 (even) and Nos 70 to 80 (even) form a group.
