Later C18 built round the core of an earlier cottage with chalk walling extending up to roof; extensive late C19 alterations (post circa 1883 when house to south demolished). Watercourse runs beneath.

Two storeys and dormers. Rendered, with tile roof. Central entrance and wide projection to left with bay window of two storeys. C19 works include gabled wing to north with oriel; central porch with carved bargeboards; single storeyed south wing and higher timber-framed block behind.

Included because of group value in old village centre. Home of John Burke from 1780s until his death in 1805.

Honeywood Museum and wall form a group with The Gate House, with road bridge, Leoni bridge, culvert and retaining walls to Carshalton Ponds, with No 1 High Street and entrance gates to The Grove, High Street (north side), with Anne Boleyn's Well, St Mary's and Madeley Cottage in Church Hill and with the following items on the South side of the High Street: the Greyhound Inn, Wall to east of the Greyhound, Church of All Saints, north churchyard wall and No 6 High Street.
