Details
1. HIGH STREET 4430 (South Side) CARSHALTON No 4 TQ 2864 SW 23/80 II GV 2. Cottage with late C18 to early C19 appearance but incorporating in base of east wall material which is of much earlier date [flint and of roughly squared masonry with heavily tooled or axed surface; roof timbers not inspected]. 2 storeys. Plastered walls. Plain tile gabled roof. In west wall above, 2-light casement with small panes to left hand and, at an intermediate level to right hand, a single-light window with diamond shaped panes. On ground floor, gabled porch to left hand and 2-light casement to right of it. No visible openings in east or north side. In original south wall, a wide doorway with wood frame; also a small window.
From the south the Church forms a group with No 4 High Street, with churchyard walls and with wall to south of No 6 High Street [See other group note for Church].
