11/253 Adams monument, in churchyard, about 4.5m north of north-east corner of north aisle, Church of St. Peter and St. Paul

Chest tomb; Thomas Adams, died 1759; stone. Flat lid, widely projecting edge, hollow chamfer. Corners quarter-square bulbous gadrooned balusters, scrolls carved on part. Sides central panel with narrow flanking end panels. North side central feature at top with drapery and tassels to frame panel: flanking panels curious pendant and square scroll. South side very thin flanking panels, centre head with wings at right-angles to each other, stylized plant: partly weathered. Ends serpent of eternity surrounding hourglass, fronds above, feathers each side, on a scrolled base. All on a chamfered plinth.
