Match factory 1909-10. Designed by Messrs Holman and Goodsham. Red brick; low
pitched roof. Concrete (?) frame. 5 storeys, with 2 tall towers of 10 stages.
L-shaped block enclosing 2 attached low wings and a tall circular chimney.
Plaster strips rising from ground to brick cornice between each bay. Segmental
headed windows with metal framed windows; small panes. Square tower to each
wing containing staircases and water storage tanks for original built in sprinkler
system; narrower segmental windows; top stage corbelled out.

An impressive building embodying the environmental requirements desirable for
the manufacture of matches.
