Details
TQ 2979 SW CITY OF WESTMINSTER PALACE STREET, SW1 99/7 Roman Catholic 5.2.70 Church of St Peter and St Edward GV II Roman Catholic Church. Begun 1856 by William Wilkinson Wardell; upper storey added by 1863. Alterations 1880 by J F Bentley. Yellow brick, red dressings; slate pitched roof to parapet, 2 storeys and basement. 7 bays to Wilfred Street. Round arched windows paired to ground floor. Interior contains high altar of 1867 and south altar of 1863, both by Bentley. Furnishings also by Bentley. WESTIMINSTER CATHEDRAL AND ITS ARCHITECT W de L'Hopital 1916. LONDON Vol I; N Pevsner
