TQ 2879 NW CITY OF WESTMINSTER WILTON PLACE,SW1 88/22 (west side) 1.5.86 Nos 9 to 12 (consec) & Nos 14 to 28 (consec) GV II Row of houses. Early C19. Brick with channelled stucco to ground floor; slate mansards to Nos 15 to 24 and No 27. 4 storeys, attic and basement (Nos 14 and 25 to 28 of 5 storeys). Each house 2 windows wide. Round headed entrances with various panelled doors and fanlights. First floor wrought iron balconies of "Gothick" design except to Nos 25, 26 and 27, which have distinctive "lyre" pattern. Square gauged headed windows, sashed; some glazing bars; some French casements to first floor. Area railings. No 25 with GLC plaque commemorating residence of George Bentham the botanist.
