Westminster School house. c.1865 by Sir George Gilbert Scott with John Oldrid Scott. Red brick with stone dressings to Dean's Yard, rear range to Great Smith Street of stone rubble with ashlar dressings, later slate mansards. Neo-early-Tudor. Main front of 3 storeys, basement and dormered attics. 12 windows wide slightly asymmetrical with south wing of 5 windows recessed from 3-window centrepiece. Entrance in right hand of centrepiece with recessed camber arched porch with quoined stone surround. Mullioned transomed iron casement windows with drip moulds, oriel through 1st and 2nd floors in middle bay of centrepiece and oriel to left in south wing. Flush and weathered stone strings ; battlemented parapet overall. Cast iron Gothic area railings. The rear stone range of 4 storeys, basement and attic. 9 bays wide with single storey, 2 bay north wing. 2 recessed porches with drip moulds. Irregular fenestration with mullioned-transomed casements all square headed some with traceried heads to lights, and 2 shallow oriels through 1st and 2nd floors to left and right. Irregular stone string courses and battlemented parapet over band course; the north wing also battlemented with octagonal lantern with ogee cupola behind parapet.
