Details
KINGS CLIFFE PARK STREET TL0097 (East side) 12/125 No.2 and attached outbuildings 23/05/67 (Formerly listed as No.2 (Wisteria)) GV II House. C18 altered early C19. Squared coursed and banded limestone, with Collyweston slate roof. 3-unit plan forming an L-shaped arrangement. 2 storeys. Main front is a 4-window range of 8-paned sash windows under stone lintels, with keyblocks, at first floor. 3, C19, canted bay windows, at ground floor, have similar sashes. Bay window to far left has C19 casements. All have slate roofs and shutters with recesses. 6-panel, part-glazed, door to left of centre is under stone lintel with keyblock and has flat wooden hood. Gabled dormer to right. Ashlar gable parapets and ashlar stacks at ridge. Rear elevation has cross-wing projecting to left with C19 bay window in gable end. Stair turret, at intersection of wings, has C19 lean-to. Interior not inspected but noted as having late C18 stair with turned balusters and scrolled treads. Fireplace with bolection moulded surround and first floor room with bolection moulded panelling. C18 and C19 outbuildings attached to rear were formerly stables and doctors surgery.
