End of terrace corner house with shop. c.1811-23 (with later alterations), part of J. Parkinson's Montagu Square and Upper Montagu Street development. Stock brick, channelled stucco ground floor to Upper Montagu Street; slate roof. 4 storeys and basement, with mid C.20 dormered mansard. 3 windows wide, 2 grouped to left, to Crawford Street; one window return with house entrance to Upper Montagu Street. Ground floor mid Victorian arcaded chemist's shop front with 3 thin mullioned bays of display window to right, recessed entrance with panelled and glazed door and one display bay to left; panelled risers; consoles at each end of shop front carry narrow fascia with gilded glass panel for lettering, surmounted by decorative ironwork cresting. Upper floors have recessed glazing bar sashes under flat gauged red brick arches. Stone cornice and blocking course returned to Upper Montagu Street. This front has semicircular arched doorway with recessed panelled door in reeded architrave, with fanlight; one glazing bar sash to each floor above. Cast iron area railings with urn finials. The corner has wrought iron scroll work bracket, on level of shop fascia, supporting a large square, Victorian chemist's lamp with coloured glass and large domed finial. Included for group value only.
