Early C19, with mid-late C19 alterations 3 storeys, rendered and carved as
stone, with rebuilt parapet concealing slate roof. 5 recessed blank panels
with dentils below parapet. 5 windows in shaped surrounds, modern glazing.
3 round-headed niches contain colourful figures of a guardsman and sailor (to
the sides) and Father Time (with wings) to the centre and top storey. All
the figures are below bells under pediments, which they ring in concert with
the shop clock, which projects at right angles on the 1st floor. Ground floor
has shop front of the same period with glazed fascia with shop name. Inserted
modern shop front to right.

Nos 23 & 25 form a group with No 31 Great Underbank.

Nos 1 to 25 (odd) and Premises occupied by Hobson Smith form a group, of which
Nos 1 to 7 (odd) and No 17 are of local interest, also with Bridge over Little
Underbank.
