SD 71 NE DUNDEE LANE 3/140 - No 85 (School House)
- II
Built c1864, mainly from material salvaged from Manchester Parish Church (then under restoration) and from the old courthouse of Holcombe (being demolished). The main doorway, wish gable hood and lintel dated 1664, and possibly the window mullions and hoods are from the latter; the gutter gargoyle at the head of the gable front, the carved crossed keys and a datestone of 1414 are from the former. Coursed rubble. 2 storeys. 2 windows, the left-hand one of 2 small lights over the door, the right- hand ones 3-light with dripmoulds and not aligned. 6 corbels under eaves. Return front to right has plain central porch and one 3-light hooded mullioned window.
