Table tomb above brick vault. c1841. Stone. Set against the
churchyard boundary wall. Inscribed tablets to the rear of an
arcaded Gothic loggia of 5 openings having pointed hoodmoulds
with foliar cusps above trefoil arches on columns; plain stone
flat roof. Attached cast-iron railings with central gate and
diaper and torch flambe finials set into a stone forecourt.
HISTORICAL NOTE: William Purton was one of Constable's (buried
a few yards away) closest Hampstead friends.
