Details
SADDLEWORTH DEAN HEAD SE 00 NW 4/73 Dean Head Farm and adjoining - cottage G.V. II House and cottage. c.1790 and early C19. Hammer-dressed watershot stone with graduated stone slate roof. Double- depth 3-storey 2-bay house with small 1-storey wing to right and 3-storey single-depth cottage added to left. Quoins. The house has 5 and 6-light windows on the ground and first floors and 3, 4 and 3-light on the second, whereas the cottage has a 2-light window on each floor and a square-cut door surround. 2-light gable windows and similar fenestration to rear. All windows have recessed flat-faced stone mullions. Dressed door surround to right gable. Kneelers. Gable chimney stacks. B. Barnes, Saddleworth Heritage, 1975.
