Details
SADDLEWORTH CHEW VALLEY SD 90 SE ROAD (north-east side) 5/35 No. 17 - - II Toll cottage, now house. c.1820. Watershot hammer-dressed stone with graduated slate roof and an extension in rendered brick. 2-room house with small extension to rear. 2 doorways (one now blocked) with pointed-arch heads and interlaced fanlight on either side of a central window opening with stone lintel and sill and C20 casement window. Pyramidal roof with central chimney stack. Pointed-arch window to each side elevation with C20 casement. The road is the Frenches and Hollins branch of the Standedge and Oldham Turnpike. B.
