LONG WHATTON MAIN STREET SK 4723 13/194 No 24 GV II
House, the top storey probably once used as working loft. Early C19 with later C19 wing to left. Red brick, Swithland slate roof, rebuilt flanking brick chimneys. 3 storeys and cellar; 1 1/2 bays. Dentil eaves. Horizontal sliding sashes, those to ground and first floors with wooden glazing bars and cambered heads, short second floor windows tucked up under the eaves with vertical glazing bars only. Full bay to right has 3-light windows; half bay to left has 2-light windows and flush-panelled door with ornamental rectangular fanlight, wooden architrave frame and cambered head. To left is gable end of later C19 brick wing with Welsh slate roof, the ground floor with 3-light horizontal sash, the first floor with 2-light casement. Left side of this wing totally rebuilt C20. C19 and C20 extensions to rear.
