15.7.87 - II

Farmhouse. Probably 1790-1800, with later alterations including stuccoing. Red-brown brick, stuccoed to front and sides. Concrete pantile roof. Double-depth plan with 2-room, central entrance-hall south front. 2 storeys with attic, 3 bays; symmetrical. Plinth, quoins. Pilastered door surround with plain frieze of incomplete entablature (cornice missing). Original 6- fielded-panel door beneath moulded lintel and overlight with radial glazing bars. C19 4-pane sashes in original C18 flush wooden architraves with sills and quoined surrounds. First-floor band, sloping down to each side. Stepped eaves. Stone-coped gables with shaped kneelers. Rebuilt end stacks. Left return: 6-fielded-panel door flanked by 16-pane sash to left, 4-pane sash to right, similar first-floor 4-pane sash, blocked attic opening. Rear: sashes with glazing bars, cogged brick eaves cornice. Interior not investigated. Empty and disused at time of resurvey.
