II
House formerly colliery office 1836-8. Calciferous sandstone with rusticated quoins, stone chimney stack, hipped Welsh slate roof. Single storey, 2 bays, with extension bay in similar stonework to right. C20 entrance porch has plank door. Small wooden casement with glazing bars to left has rusticated surround; larger triple casement with glazing bars to right and similar window in extension. Takes its name from the nearby waggonway with inclined plane; office for the coal staith, formerly on this site.
