Details

SADDLEWORTH WALL HILL ROAD SD 90 NE (north side) 3/345 Nos. 7 and 8 - Wall Hill and adjoining barn - II 2 houses. Late C18. Hammer-dressed watershot stone with graduated stone slate roof. Each house has 1 bay and 2 storeys and the barn projects to the rear of No7. No.7 has a 2 and 5-light ground floor window (the former with mullion removed) and a 6-light first floor window: all have recessed flat-faced stone mullions. Gable chimney stack and gable entrance. No.8 adjoins to right and is of a slightly later build. Door with square-cut surround and C19 window to right. 3-light recessed flat-faced mullion window on first floor. Gable chimney stack, rendered gable-end and 2-light gable windows. Barn at rear has stables on the lower level and a 2-light window in the gable-end. Interior has a cantilevered stone staircase and a vaulted cellar.
