Monument. 1861-70. Eden Nesfield, with carvings by Forsyth. Stone base of three steps (square) on stone pavement, surrounded by iron railings. High moulded plinth, circular stone column and four marble columns at angles, with Gothic carved capitals and reliefs of four evangelists. Large seated Christ at top, in a square aedicules of three open cusped sides and a rear carved panel of the Hand of God, Adam and Eve, and the Crucifixion. A handsome and elaborate exercise in "Early French" Gothic.
