LAMBERHURST THE DOWN TQ 6635-6735 (west side) 9/255 Ridge Farmhouse GV II

House. C16 extended C17 (altered C19) and late C20. Timber framed and tile hung with brick pilasters with frame exposed to rear with plaster infill on brick base and extended with tile hung and weather boarded range. Plain tiled roof. Front range the C17 wing, of 2 storeys on sandstone plinth with 4 C19 brick pilasters and gabled roof with remains of moulded bargeboards and stack at end right and stack cluster to rear. Regular fenestration of 2 three light wooden casements on each floor, those on ground floor with transoms, and central rib and stud door with large ornate hinges and rectangular fanlight. Metal casement in lean-to outshot to right. Two storey hipped, weather boarded and tile hung C20 range to rear right. Left return with outshots and half glazed door in C19 gabled porch. Rear wing C16 of 2 storeys with hipped roof and stack cluster, and exposed small panel framing with arched braces, in three tiers on tall red brick plinth. Fully framed interior with inglenook fireplaces.
