HILDENBOROUGH LONDON ROAD (north east side) Memorial cross about 11m south east of the tower of the Church of St John

GV II

Memorial cross. Circa 1867. Freestone. A tall stone cross with a chamfered shaft and arms on a plinth with cusped gables on all 4 sides. The plinth stands on 3 steps. The inscription commemorates Francis (surname illegible), died 1857.

An ambitious Gothic memorial and one of the earliest in the churchyard.
