House and barn, mid C18th. Slobbered rubble with slate roof. 2 storeys.
Original part of house of 2 bays having flush chamfered mullioned windows
with cement rendered lintels. Windows of 2 lights except for the left-hand
one on the ground floor which is of 3 lights. At the left is a bay added
in the C19th which has windows with plain reveals and modern imitation
sashes. End chimneys, with 3rd chimney to right of added bay. Inside are
boxed axial main ceiling joists. Over a doorway is a re-set carved wooden
panel dated '1638'. The barn projects forwards at the right and is of
sandstone rubble with a stone slate roof. Its front wall is mostly covered
by a later lean-to addition. The gables have copings with kneelers. At the
rear are lean-to additions which incorporate a canopy over the wide barn
entrance. Inside, the roof trusses have softwood tie beams.
