16/85 Clock House and Flanking Walls 4. 10. 1967 GV II

Former coach house to Halton Hall, now a house. Late C18th. Coursed sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings and slate roof. Central 3-bay block with alternating quoins and a hipped roof flanked by lower hipped wings and tall concave walls. Windows and archway have plain stone surrounds. The ground floor has 3 semi-circular arches with raised keystones and impost band. Central wide archway now blocked and containing the present front door. Outer arches are window heads. 1st floor windows have sill band. All windows are C20th casements with small panes. Rear wall (to the south) has C19th 2-storey canted stone bay window removed from Halton Hall.
