6/66 Barn to east of Mount Pleasant Farmhouse

II

Bank Barn, 1836. Rubble with sandstone dressings and slate roof. 2 storeys at west side, with shippons and cart store. Barn floor entered from higher ground level at east. Openings have chamfered surrounds and 4-centred heads. To the right of centre, on the west wall, is a wide cart entrance with a threshing door above. To the left of this are 3 shippon doors, the outer 2 being blocked, and a window. To the right are a blocked door, a window, and a door. Centrally on the 1st floor is a moulded plaque with triangular head and hood mould with cusps, a coat of arms and date 'mdcccxxxvi'. Gables have copings and kneelers, with a finial on each apex. Each has ventilation slits and a moulded cusped owl hole. The east wall has a wide entrance with 4-centred head.
