13/12 Blue Anchor Hotel
GV II
Public house. Early C19th. Sandstone: front coursed and watershot; projecting bay on south wall furrowed ashlar; rear walls rubble. Slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays, each, bay with sashed window with glazing bars in plain stone surround on each floor. 1st floor sill band. Plain stone door surround between bays 2 and 3 with porch which has plain frieze, cornice and blocking course supported on 2 Tuscan columns. Square stone brackets support stone gutter. Chimney on north gable and between bays 1 and 2. At front end of south wall is a canted bay with central doorway, now blocked, with projecting cornice hood carried on square brackets. Windows of bay sashed with glazing bars except those to the left-hand side which are blind. To the west of the bay there is a sashed window with glazing bars and plain stone surround on each floor. Sill band and stone gutter of facade continue on south wall.
