Former Fire Engine House at corner of Church Road

(Formerly listed as Fire Engine House at corner of Church Road)

Fire engine house, later C19: brick plinth, box-framed walls with pargeted
plaster panels, red tiled roof with cockscomb ridge, pierced bargeboards at
the gables, and louvred bellcote with red tiled pyramidal roof close to
rear gable. Small single cell, gable to road; red painted double doors
with strap hinges, the lintel with a metal plate lettered "FIRE ENGINE"
(now painted black): decorative black-and-white panelling on each side of
the doors and in the gable above. On south side gutter embossed with lion
heads and supported on curly brackets.
