WITHNELL WITHNELL FOLD SD 62 SW 6/230 Withnell Fold Farmhouse with 1.3.67 adjoining dairy and barn - II

Farmhouse. Dated 1736 on lintel of door. Coursed sandstone with quoins, slate roof. Double-depth 2-bay plan. Two storeys, almost symmetrical, with gable chimneys; 1st floor band; gable coping with kneelers; doorway has long and short lintel inscribed I ; 2windows on each floor, 3 lights to left and 4 lights to right. E L 1736 Breaking forwards at left end is added dairy of one bay and 2 storeys, with altered window at ground floor and 3-light window above, and continued left is barn under same roof with datestone recording that it was rebuilt in 1855. Rear of house has inter-alia one 3-light window and a single-light stair-window.
