HEAPEY CHAPEL LANE (off) SD 62 SW 6/111 Barn with shippon c20 metres south of Eagle Tower - Farmhouse GV II

Barn with shippon. Dated 1704 on north gable; altered. Sandstone rubble with quoins, slate roof. T-shaped plan, modified by additions: 3 bays with front and back outshuts to shippon at north end, later outshuts extending further than these at the south end. North gable wall has 3 board doors in wooden surrounds with long and short jambstones, and the outer doors with rectangular stone lintels also, in centre of upper floor a square datestone inscribed Y and to right of this a small vertical I M 1703 rectangular window with chamfered surround. Wagon entrances in centre, that on west side now covered by addition (or altered), the other under carried-down roof. Interior not inspected.
