BRINDLE MILL HOUSE LANE SD 52 NE 1/47 Mill House Farmhouse - (northern half) - II

Farmhouse, now house. Probably C17, altered at various dates subsequently, and extended, altered to make 2 dwellings (the southern half not included in the item). Cruck-framed, with cladding of sandstone random rubble with quoins, the front rendered; slate roof. Formerly 2-bay baffle-entry plan. Two storeys; present external features of less interest than interior, which incorporates a full cruck truss in a partition wall, the blades and yoke exposed but the rest concealed; and has an inglenook fireplace with heck wall incorporating a post, chamfered bressummer; former baffle-entry doorway with wooden lintel, now used for shelving; 2 boxed beams; service end has a chamfered beam with run-out stop.
