CROSTON GRAPE LANE SD 41 NE 8/78 Nos. 21 and 23 - - II
Pair of houses. Early C19, altered. Brick (now mostly covered by creeper), slate roof with 2 large ridge chimneys. Double-depth, 4 bays. Three storeys: No. 21 has gabled porch with panelled outer door and semi-circular fanlight, two 12-pane sashes to the left and 3 at 1st floor, and 2 small sliding sashes at 2nd floor. No. 23 has a round-headed doorway now with glazed double-doors, a large 12-pane window to the right and 2 at 1st floor (said to be segmental-headed, and all with altered glazing imitating sashes), and 2 small 4-pane casements at 2nd floor. Lower continuation to right not included in the item. Rear of less interest.
