WHITWORTH EDWARD STREET (off) South Chapel at Whitworth Cemetery

GV II Cemetery chapel, right of matching set of three, late 1870s, designed by architects Maxwell and Tuke. Rock-faced sandstone, slate roof with bands of green slates, red ridging tiles, gabled dormer window on south side, ridge chimney. T-plan: small nave with north transept; in High Victorian Gothic style. West gable has seven lancets, band, and plate-traceried rose above.

Interior: not inspected, but probably has arch-braced kingpost roof with curved struts (as in other two chapels).
