CLAUGHTON FLEET STREET SD 54 SW 8/76 Street House 17-4-1967 GV II

House, probably early-to-mid C18, altered mid-to-late C19. Brick on stone base, rendered. 2 storeys with attic. Brick band with dog-tooth course. Windows are of 2 lights with wooden mullions and rendered surrounds. The lights have glazing bars, one in each window having a horizontal sash. Blank shield between 2nd and 3rd 1st floor windows. Door, between bays 2 and 3, has rendered surround under cast iron trellis porch. Gables have chimneys and carved bargeboards. Left-hand gable wall has blocked brick mullioned window with hood on 1st floor. Interior has a shouldered stone fireplace, axial main ceiling joists with edge roll mouldings, and a dog-leg stair of C18th type with closed string and turned balusters.
