MUCH HOOLE LIVERPOOL OLD ROAD Churchills

(Formerly listed as Barn, c. 10 metres south west of Church Farmhouse, previously listed as barn immediately South West of Church Farmhouse)

20.3.1979 GV II Barn C18 or possibly earlier, of two builds, the earlier to the north. Red brick with some stone quoins, slate roof. Rectangular plan, 4 bays, wagon doorway with segmental head in 2nd bay; 1st floor window with glazing bars in 3rd bay, and 2 blocked windows below it; board door to 4th bay. North end is lofted, with gable window; at this end is a pent pigsty with enclosures of clamped stone slabs. Modern rear outshut of no interest.

Group value with farmhouse and St. Michael's Church (q.v.).
