3/127 Eaves Cottage Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse, early C18 with early C19 addition. Brick, part stuccoed, all painted white, with slate roof on 2 levels. Earlier part to west is L-shaped end-baffle-entry plan of 2 bays, the lst bay double depth. Two storeys; 1st floor band; front to south has door at right hand end (under modern lean-to porch), two 3-light casements on each floor; rear has 2 similar windows at 1st floor, a C19 20-pane sash and a 2-light casement at ground floor. Gable chimneys. Addition, also 2 storeys, has hipped roof; front facing east has round-headed doorway in stone surround with imposts and moulded semicircular head, fanlight with radiating glazing bars; a 16-pane sash to right and 2 above, one on each floor of north side wall. Interior: older part has inglenook with stop-chamfered bressummer, large heck, and saltcupboard with carved door depicting a stylised tree with fruit, a drawer below; collar roof truss with angle struts.
