Cottage, C18, opened as a museum in 1995. Mostly hand-made brick, steeply-pitched corrugated iron roof on two levels, with boarded eaves. Two bays, the northern 1½ storeys and the southern two storeys; modern glazed porch at the junction; north bay has a three-light casement at ground floor and a two-light dormer in the eaves, south bay has one three-light sliding sash window with glazing bars on each floor. Right gable has external chimney stack, left gable rebuilt in grey brick; rear has low lean-to extension.

Interior: the lower north bay is axially partitioned, both parts have chamfered beams (cyma-stopped in south part, run-out in the north); original rafters, joists, etc; 1/4-turned staircase in rear inner corner of north bay.
