Parish Church of early C14, restored 1847, including addition of new chancel and N. aisle, by Henry Isaac Stevens of Derby, in sympathy with medieval character of church. Well coursed grey-green sandstone, heavily tooled. West tower (originally with spire) with gargoyles and thin corner pinnacles. Nave with low clerestory with square headed paired tracery lights, and 2 aisles with simple tracery windows. Curvilinear tracery elsewhere. Interior has nave arcade with heavy abaci to piers, and wall monument in chancel, marble, to Stephen Everard, 1615, with relief figures of family. Series of slate
headstones in churchyard.
