Bank constructed by Goddard Paget and Goddard of Leicester in 1891 for the Leicestershire Banking Company. French influence. Flamboyant architecture. Street elevation faced with white stone, pink stone plinth. Green slate roof and stone chimneys. Two storeys. Six bays width with first and fifth bays advanced, each under pyramidal gable end with iron finial. Stone balustrade to eaves and dentil cornice below. Pilasters between each window bay, Corinthian to first floor, Ionic to ground floor. Windows of two and three lights with mullions and transom, ground floor with two transoms. Leaded glazing to all top lights. Western side has round arched entrance with keystone and elaborate bas relief carving. Eastern side has small, round arched door with simpler carving.
