Details
HIGH CROSS STREET 1. 5304 (East Side) Nos 21 and 23 SK 5804 7/252 II 2. Early C18. Stuccoed. Heavy moulded modillion eaves cornice. Steep-pitched slate roof with gable ends. Two storeys. Two windows. Left-hand first floor sash with glazing bars, right-hand first floor new two-light casement. Ground floor mid Cl9 shop front with two plate glass windows, entablature with dentilled cornice, and pilasters. Central carriageway. The north end wall incorporates stone rubble remains of C18 Borough Gaol which once adjoined. Brick wing at rear with C18 wood mullion/transom window. An early print shows date 1717 on front, which is date that Morgans Locksmith was established. No 21 is still premises of Morgans Locksmith.
