WALTON-LE-DALE GOUGH LANE Crow Trees Lodge

(Formerly listed as Barn at Crow Trees, c.50m. south east of house)

GV II Barn, probably early C17. Cruck framed, with cladding of stone and brick, slate roof. Four bays, the first bay having a loft approached by external stone steps at the gable, the 3rd containing opposed wagon doorways. Stone plinth, stone quoins to ¾ height at front corners, ½ height at rear corners; stone gable copings with kneelers, those at the left end having ball finials. Loft door of studded planks, in wooden doorcase with slightly arched lintel. Interior: 2 full cruck trusses, one with halved blades, both with footstones, very high collars and short king struts to the ridge, blades touching at the apex.
