II

House, formerly a row of 4 cottages. Late C17 with C19 and C20 alterations. Timber box framing with rubble plinth, roughcast brick nogging and C20 slate roof. Single brick ridge stack. 2 storeys plus garrets, 2 bays. L-plan. The corner posts have braces. All the fenestration is late C20. North front has 2 bow windows and above, 2 glazing bar casements of 3 and 4 lights. East side has in the return angle a C20 door and to its left, a single casement and beyond, a 3 light casement. Above, 2 three light strip casements. To the right, a gabled wing with a C20 door and to its right a single casement. South side has to the right a single casement and to the left, on each floor, a 3 light casement. Rendered west side has no openings. Interior, refitted late C20, is said to retain the original common rafter roof with single purlins.
