Public house. Probably C15, altered early-mid C17, extended and altered 1722 and altered C20. Timber-framed, extended in coursed squared ironstone, slate roof, brick ridge and end stacks. 2-storey, 3-window range. Hall home, probably of two bays, with cross wing. Main range parallel with street has C20 door to right of centre, 3-light casement window to right, coursed ironstone rubble to around floor, timber-framing to 1st floor with plastered infill between studs. Coursed squared ironstone to left of centre with C2O window to ground floor with wood lintel. Gabled dormer window to left of centre and similar dormer to far right. Cross wing has gable end wall of coursed ironstone rubble with 3-light casement window to 1st floor with wood lintel and limestone datestone to gable inscribed 1722 and DW. Left side of wing has stone walling to ground floor and timber framing to 1st floor with pairs of diagonal braces to square panels. Stone-coped gable with kneelers. Attached brick wall projects to right of door broken by railings which flank wrought-iron gates. hung on timber with wrought- iron overthrow. Interior: central arch-braced collar truss to hall range with chamfers to braces and crown post. Cross wing roof has king posts. Entrance opens into cross passage behind inserted stone stack with open fireplace to ground floor with chamfered bressummer. Stop-chamfered spine beam to inserted floor. Said to have originally been a priest's house.
