Gardener's cottage, adjoining garden walls, outbuildings and summ erhouse. Late C18 and 1849, restored 1987. Coursed and squared ironstone and brick, with brick and ashlar dressings and hipped stone slate and plain tile roofs. Grouped central stone stack. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Cottage north front has a central gabled porch with bargeboards and 6 panelled door, flanked by single 2 light casements. Above, 2 cross eaves gabled dormers with bargeboards and 2 light casements. West side has a French window and above, to right, a leaded casement. Beyond, to west, lean-to sheds with 8 casements and 6 doors. Beyond, to east, an arched opening with keystone inscribed '1849'. Beyond again, a lean-to boiler house with a gable stack. Cottage south side has a lean- to greenhouse and above, coped parapet with 3 oval leaded windows. Beyond on each side, a lean-to greenhouse, that to right restored. East and west garden walls, approx. 100 M long, have each a central doorway with elliptical arched head. South garden wall has ramped higher central section with 4 square piers with ball finials and a pair of iron gates. North west corner has a C19 lean-to shed with central door flanked by single casements. West side has adjoining ramped coped wall with 6 piers and 2 oval openings and small square summerhouse reconstructed 1987. South west corner has a C19 L-plan outbuilding with round headed openings to north, south and east, that to north with C19 Romanesque surround. Included for group value only. Nearly adjoining C20 bungalow to north-west not included in this list.
