Details

BADBY STONEWAY SP5558 (North side) 18/23 Marriotts House - II Farmhouse, now house. Mid C18. Coursed squared ironstone, slate roof, stone ridge and end stacks, that to right with rectangular stone flue. Four-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. 8-panel door just to right of centre, with semi-circular dummy overlight, moulded wood surround with Tuscan pilasters, broken entablature supporting open pediment. 12-pane sash windows throughout, those to ground floor left horned. Those either side of door and to right have stone lintels with keyblocks, those to left, a group of two, to ground floor, and one above have timber lintels. Door approached by single moulded semi-circular step. Some courses of brick below eaves, stone coped gables with kneelers. C20 single-storey extension to rear. C20 roof dormers. Interior has chamfered spine beams and open fireplace with chamfered bressumer. Dog-leg staircase with stick balusters to first flight, fat turned balusters to upper flights.
