Former School. 1858. Yellow brick with red brick and stone dressings, corrugated iron roof.

One storey, nine bays, central three bays project by two bays. Entablatures and quoin strips. Applied arcades have red brick round arches, stone imposts and keys. Round-headed windows have red-brick imposts and are sashed with glazing bars. Segmental gable with round window. Porch to seventh bay has segmental gable, round-headed entrance with C20 doors and window. Three-bay returns similar, five round-headed lights, the central one wider, to segmental gables. Rear extension and stack. Roof has drum ventilators.

Part of a planned village for Price's Patent Candle Company, one of the earliest examples of a model industrial village.
