GEORGE ROAD 1. 5104 Edgbaston B15 No 29 SP 0585 NE 40/32 II GV 2. C1800-10, tall detached 3 storey villa with symmetrical 3 bay front. Probably red brick originally but remodelled in Grecian stucco C1830. Lower 2 storey wing to right and one storey wing with annexes returning to coach house with hipped slate roof on street frontage, to left. Plinth; moulded eaves cornice to hipped slate roof; flanking stucco chimney stacks with stepped cornices. All windows have simple architrave surrounds and retain glazing bar sashes. Tripartite Venetian porch with segmental arch to centre, on 4 square piers with Soanian incised panels supporting heavy entablature and blocking course raised as pediment over centre. The lower 2 storey wing to right has same fenestration as main block. The rear garden elevation has a pair of 2 storey bows flanking doorway. The Round House (No 16 St James's Road qv) was originally a folly in the grounds of No 29, subsequently sold off.
