Details
FREDERICK ROAD 1. 5104 Edgbaston B15 Nos 35 and 56 SP 0585 NE 40/17 II GV 2. A pair of C1850 Italianate stucco villas. Two storeys semi-detached and symmetrical overall with 2 bury centre and set back 2 bay wings. Hipped slate roofs with boxed eaves on modillion console brackets. Stucco corniced chimneys. Plinth and first floor scroll band returned to wings. First floor windows in architrave surrounds with thin moulded sills with panelled apron contained by continuation of architraves down to sill course with console tabs set below. Ground floor windows, tripartite to centre block single to wings, have pilaster strips with console heads supporting dentil cornices; the sills are supported on consoles. Square pier porches in angle of wings with archivolt arches beneath entablatures. No 35 has lost fore part but retains wall pilasters and archivolted fanlight.
