Details
CARPENTER ROAD 1. 5104 Edgbaston B15 Nos 35 and 36 SP 0685 SE 46/1 II 2. Circa 183O-40 virtually semi-detached identical pair of stucco villas with attendant coach houses, treated as one composition, 2 storeys, 3 bays each. Plinth; moulded sill course. Flat eaves to nipped slate roofs with flanking corniced chimneys. Sash window in architmwe mxmunda on first floor, those on ground with panelled aprons and framed by pilaster strips rising from plinth with elongated moulded console brackets supporting cornices over. No 36 has variant of canted bay windows on ground floor with cornices returned over similar consoles on pilaster strips. Each has central Ionic column porch with pilasters to wall. Four panel doors, with marginal glazing rectangular fanlights, approached by steps. No 36 retains original glazed and panelled inner door. No 35 has gradient screen wall with double yard doors, curving out to left hand to link with one end a half storey coach house. For centred arched double panelled doors and small attic window above; hipped slate roof. No 36 has a similar arrangement but with a straight link wall to the projecting coach house.
