Details
1. CAROLINE STREET 5104 Hockley B3 No 65 SP 0687 NW 24/15 II 2. On corner with Regent Parade. Circa 1830 town house. Three storeys dark red brick. Three bay symmetrical front following curve of street with each bay at shallow tangent, the narrower central bay advanced by one brick depth (thus a very shallow butterfly plan). Stucco plinth and first floor sill band; stucco eaves and deep flat eaves to slate roof with flanking chimneys. Ground floor windows have been altered with stuccoed lintels but the upper floors retain original glazing bar sashes, central window blind on second floor, shallow decorated consoles flank moulded stucco heads supporting thin cornices with blocking courses. Entrance has engaged Ionic columns on moulded bases, entablature with moulded cornice and blocking course; door of 6 fielded panels with moulded doorhead returned over panelled reveals, marginal glazed rectangular fanlight.
