GV II

House, now two dwellings and shop. c.1700, remodelled early C19 and C20. Coursed squared ironstone, corrugated asbestos tile and corrugated iron roof. Brick stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys, attic and cellar; 4 bays. Doorway to right has early C19 moulded wood surround with panelled reveals, flat wooden hood on brackets and 4-panel door. 3-light casement window with wood lintel on either side. Doorway to left has C20 door and wood lintel. 2-light transomed casement window with wood lintel in left bay with wood lintel of a blocked window to left of it. 2-light casement windows with wood lintels in left bay and second bay from left on the first floor. Other first floor windows are 3-light casements with wood lintels. Left side has one-light cellar window with plain stone surround. 3-light casement window with stone lintel and keyblock to ground floor, similar 2-light window to first floor with blank stone plaque with moulded hood above. One-light stone window to attic. Extension to left, probably former outbuilding, remodelled as part of the dwelling C19-C20. Coursed squared ironstone and ironstone rubble, corrugated tile roof. 2 storeys; 3 bays. Entrance to "Church Side" in second bay from right with C20 gabled stone porch. Inner doorway has wood lintel and C20 door. :3-light casement windows with wood lintels on either side. Carriage entrance, the full height of the left bay, has wood lintel and double plank doors. 6-light casement window with wood lintel in second bay from left on the first floor, and 2-light casement window with wood lintel to right. Interior: Griffin Cottage: room pattern altered C20, retains chamfered spine beams and open fireplace (partly rebuilt). Church Side, not inspected. Barn extension to right of "Griffin Cottage" (now shop) C18. Blue and red brick in chequer pattern. Corrugated iron roof. One storey, 3 bays.Doorway with wood lintel and plank door in left bay. C19 shop window to right framed by panelled pilasters and moulded entablature. C20 sash window with wood lintel in right bay. Interior: remodelled C20 with C20 roof structure.
